Measuring instructions

Clothing

To measure exactly which size of Mammut is most suitable for you, you first need a tape measure. It is best to ask someone else to take your measurements while you stand upright and relaxed without shoes. Try not to pull the measuring tape too tight, but also not too loose around the body. Avoid bulky clothing. For the most accurate results, have only your undergarments or close-fitting clothes on, such as a base layer.

  • Chest: measure around the widest part of your chest, with the tape measure under your arms and your arms relaxed at your sides.
  • Waist: measure around your waist at the narrowest part.
  • Hip: stand with your feet hip-width apart and measure around your hips at the widest part.
  • Inseam: standing upright, measure the length of the inside of your leg at your crotch to the floor.

Shoes

Measure your foot in centimetres with a tape measure and then find your corresponding Mammut shoe size in the size charts below. For completeness, we have included EU, UK and US shoe sizes.

Gloves

For glove sizes, look at your next two hand sizes:

  • Hand length: keep your hand flat and measure a straight line from the base of the hand to the tip of the middle finger.
  • Hand circumference: hold your hand flat and measure the circumference of the hand above the base of the thumb.

Fit

Mammut uses a total of four terms to describe the fit of its own clothing. In order from tight to loose fit, these are:

  • Slim fit: a very snug fit around the upper body and arms, close-fitting, highly elastic/stretchy material.
  • Athletic fit: dynamic cut, defined body shape, pre-shaped sleeves, elastic/stretchy materials.
  • Regular fit: a tight, athletic cut, with little tailoring, comfortable. Sometimes elastic/stretchy materials.
  • Loose fit: a wide, and in some places longer, cut on the upper body and arms, for a casual and comfortable fit.
